Hallucinations include invented facts, quotations and references. A precise-looking citation can still be fabricated. Open sources and check they support the actual claim.
List the claims that matter before looking for evidence. A planning suggestion may need a simple plausibility check, while a refund deadline needs the current policy. Distinguish a factual claim from an opinion or creative suggestion. Ask what would happen if each claim were wrong and spend more checking effort on consequential ones. A polished paragraph can hide several separate claims, so break it into checkable pieces.
